Knoxville has been Crawford County's seat of government since the 1820s. Stewart Septic Services keeps the homes and properties around it running smoothly from our base in Macon.
Knoxville was chosen as the Crawford County seat in 1823, set near the center of the new county along the old Federal Road. Its 1831 courthouse still stands and now houses the Crawford County Historical Society, while county business moved to a new courthouse a block away in 2002. Knoxville gave up its municipal charter in 1995, so today it's an unincorporated community that remains the county seat. It's also linked to Joanna Troutman, the Crawford County native who sewed the Lone Star flag carried by Georgia volunteers to Texas. We serve Knoxville from our home base in Macon.
Stewart Septic Services is a family company that Erwin Stewart started in 1994. We pump tanks, find lost ones, repair drain fields and lines, and install new systems as a company the Georgia Department of Public Health lists as a certified septic tank installer. Customers tell us they appreciate honest answers, fair prices and crews who clean up before they leave.
Many homes in and around Knoxville sit on rural land, and some systems are old enough that nobody remembers where the tank lid is. We can handle septic tank locating and add risers for easier access next time. For pumping, repairs or a backup that can't wait, call Stewart Septic Services at 478-474-2653.
